HistoryThe State Professional Institute for Food and Hotel Hospitality "Pietro Piazza" (formerly Secondo Alberghiero), was officially founded on July 9, 1997, by decree of the Regional Department of Education. Originally located in two locations, in Via Fichidindia and Via Amedeo d'Aosta, it was transferred in 2001 still partially, maintaining the branch in Via Fichidindia, and in 2002 entirely, in the current single location in Corso dei Mille at no. 181, occupying the prestigious building known as "Mulini Virga".
In recent years, the I.P.S.S.E.O.A. "Pietro Piazza" has become a point of reference and a reliable "training center" for young people from the south-eastern side of the city and the province who opt for the professional training offer proposed, qualifying itself more and more as a school open to innovation and change and, at the same time, attentive to the cultural peculiarities and demands of the large territory to which its catchment area inheres.
The students come mainly from neighboring towns, but there is no shortage of students from the city area. Commuting is an aggravation of school fatigue, but it also allows for a multifaceted student population, bearer of varied socio-cultural aspects which, integrating with each other, constitute a truly valuable human dimension.
